2017 Summer thread.

Heck of a day! Haps in Veijinvic out. St. Juste in. Rumors are Berghuis is close to returning for good. Still rumors about RVP coming home and now Moice Kean the young striker from Juventus could be coming in.

Rumors are that Berghuis will be back for good this coming week. It also appears that RVP is getting close to a return. GVB wants him, RVP wants to come home, Van Gaal wants him, some on the board do not, and Fen. want 4 million for the transfer. Looks like Feyenoord want RVP to buyout his contract and then sign him.
If these 2 signing happen that should make a great team baring any more sales before the window closes.
There are a couple of signings for the future that I would love to see. Guys like Grot and Vandrogelen would be great pickups for down the road.

According to Voetbal International Feyenoord and Watford are close to agreeing a fee for Berghuis. Watford want €7million, we've bid €6.5million.

Yup saw that. That leaves plenty of money to bring in RVP if we so choose. Might still have some cash leftover afterwards. I would still like to see us make a couple of signings for the future. Grot at F and Vandrogelen for the D come to mind.

Berghuis is back! Just waiting to hear how many years. Rumors are RVP has agreed to a contract as well. Just waiting on the buyout with Fen. to happen.

What do you all think our starting 11 would be if we sign both Berghuis and Van Persie? I feel like you can't sacrifice Jorgensen for obvious reasons and IMO you also can't sacrifice Toornstra after the amazing season he's just had, and I also don't think Van Persie has the necessary skills to play on the wing, be it the left or right wing. The reason I wonder this is because I highly doubt Van Persie is willing to sign with us just to sit on the bench, he might as well collect his big salary at Fenerbahce for another year then. I can only think of 1 solution: a 4-3-1-2 formation:
Van Persie - Jorgensen (you can freely switch them around)
Berghuis
El Ahmadi - Toornstra - Vilhena
Haps - van der Heijden - Botteghin - Nieuwkoop/Diks
Jones/Vermeer
And then you could also try switching Berghuis and Jorgensen around because IMO with how much Jorgensen likes to actually participate in the field play and he's actually being quite a good footballer besides just being a solid finisher, and I could still see him scoring a similar amount of goals as last season in such a position. And Berghuis would probably also be more comfortable playing on the right instead of playing in a central position.
And whenever Van Persie isn't fit we can just play a regular 4-3-3 formation with the new players replacing the players we've sold.

If and when RVP signs I think Boetuis is the odd man out when everyone is healthy and not serving YC/RC suspensions. Best part is we will have great depth! You haven't even included guys like Arambat, St. Juste, and van Beek in your starting 11! IMHO when healthy St. Juste and Van beek are both better than van der heijden.

Yes Berghuis is signed long term. Good move. Better news is we still have 8 million+ to spend! Now it looks like Fen. is trying to drive up the price on RVP. I still believe that this deal gets done. In the mean time there are other moves that can be performed. As I have mentioned in other threads going after some more youth for long term development is what I would do. Grot and Vandrogelen would be great long term moves. We should also not be afraid of going after a guy like Bracuna from AV. Good solid player that can play anywhere down the right side: RW, RMF, DMF and RB.
